Dancing In The Park

 Dancing in the Park is held on Monday evenings in summer at an outdoor setting.

Dates for the 2025/26 season are:

DECEMBER 2025 – Monday 8, 15 and 22nd
JANUARY 2026 – Monday 5, 12 and 19th
FEBRUARY 2026 – Monday 2, 16 and 23rd

Venue:  Stage 88 in Commonwealth Park.

Stage 88 is covered, so dancing will go ahead come rain or shine.

This is a free community event to which everyone is welcome. However, as we are being charged for use of the venue, a gold coin donations bucket will be out to help defray this cost.

Please note: if you are unwell or have been exposed to Covid, DO NOT attend. You will be required to sanitise hands before and between dances – sanitiser will be provided or bring your own. Wearing of masks and/or gloves is optional and at the wearer’s discretion.

Beginning at 6.30pm, the dancing goes until dusk. No dance experience required – all dances taught and called. Suitable for all dancers, including children from about 10yo.

Live music from our open band (all musicians welcome and encouraged to come and play – please note that there is no power, so be prepared for acoustic or battery power only).

DECEMBER 2025:

8 December:      Peter with Bush dances, plus Jim & Ingrid with Bavarian
15 December:    Colin with Bush, Contra and English Country dances
22 December:    Mark with Bush, Contra and perhaps an easy Scottish dance

JANUARY 2026:

5 January:       Jude with Bush dances
12 January:     Peter with Bush dances and probably a Contra or two
19 January:     Ian with Bush dances

FEBRUARY 2026:

2 February:     Colin with Bush, Contra and English Country dances
16 February:   Mark with Bush dances, plus Jim & Ingrid with Bavarian
23 February:   Party Night – all callers invited for a final pot pouri of dancing. All attendees are invited to bring a plate of finger food to share afterwards.
