Dancing In The Park – 2023/2024

 Dancing in the Park is held on Monday evenings in summer at an outdoor setting.

Dates for the 2023/24 season are:

DECEMBER 2023 – Monday 4, 11 and 18th
JANUARY 2024 – Monday 8 and 29th
FEBRUARY 2024 – Monday 5, 12 and 19th

Venue:  Stage 88 in Commonwealth Park.

Stage 88 is covered, so dancing will go ahead come rain or shine.

This is a free community event to which everyone is welcome. However, as we are being charged for use of the venue, a gold coin donations bucket will be out to help defray this cost.

Please note: if you are unwell or have been exposed to Covid, DO NOT attend. You will be required to sanitise hands before and between dances – sanitiser will be provided or bring your own. Wearing of masks and/or gloves is optional and at the wearer’s discretion.

Beginning at 6.30pm, the dancing goes until dusk. No dance experience required – all dances taught and called. Suitable for all dancers, including children from about 10yo.

Live music from our open band (all musicians welcome and encouraged to come and play – please note that there may not be power, so be prepared for acoustic or battery power only).

DECEMBER 2023:

4 December:     Mark Simmons and Lance Green – Bush dances;
11 December:   Colin Towns – mostly Bush, with perhaps English Country and Contra dances too;
18 December:   Peter Foster – mostly Bush and maybe a Contra dance too.

JANUARY 2024:

8 January:       Jude Stuart – Bush dances; (to be confirmed)
29 January:    TBA

FEBRUARY 2024:

5 February:     TBA
12 February:   TBA
19 February:   Party Night – all callers invited for a pot pouri of dancing
