Colonial Ball 2021

The Monaro Folk Society’s

2021 Colonial Ball

7:30pm – 11:30pm, doors open 7pm

Saturday 25th September (cancelled due to Covid 19)

Folk Dance Canberra Hall

The Ball was to be held on Saturday 25th September 2021, at the FDC Hall, 114 Maitland Street, Hackett, ACT (click for location map).

The Ball program was to feature great music and dances from 19th century Australian sources.

Dress for the Ball will be Colonial / early 1900’s evening dress wear, or after five – see also the theme below.
(For ideas on how others dress for the Ball, see the Colonial Ball page)

Due to current Covid restrictions and the uncertainty as to when they might be lifted, the Ball was to be dancing from 7:30pm to 11:30pm with no catering, drinks, etc. Consequently there was to be a significant reduction in ticket prices from previous years.

However, doors will open at 7pm for socialising, admiring of gowns and outfits, etc, plus there will be a break in dancing during the evening. The FDC Hall does not allow food or drinks on the dance floor, but BYO drinks and snacks may be consumed on the outside veranda, so providing Covid restrictions permit it, dancers may bring their own refreshments for before and during the Ball.

Details will be added or updated as planning progresses.
