Shearers’ Ball

Usually held on the final Saturday in March, however due to Easter this year it will be earlier, on
Sunday March 24

The Shearers’ Ball returns for a great afternoon’s dancing with live music from Canberra band Humbug, and calling by Claire Stoneman – the dance program can be found below.

No experience is required, no need to bring a partner, all dances will be called and taught on the afternoon, so just come along in less formal colonial gear or smart casual dress and comfortable shoes and join in the fun.

Shearers’ Balls have been around in regional Australia for a long time. Traditionally, they were usually held at the end of the shearing season before itinerant shearers moved away for a well-earned break or for other work.
